I have some awesome news to share with everyone. I was recently informed that Jiu-Jitsu has officially been accepted into the Cornhusker State Games for 2010. I've been working with the State Games staff for a couple of months now and all of the hard work has paid off. Now the real fun begins with getting everything finalized and preparing for the actual event. My goal is to have at least a couple of tournaments before the State Games competition. This should help us work out some bugs and help it to run more smoothly. I'll post additional details and press releases as it gets closer.

That is great. What rules will the competition follow? When does enrollment sought?
That's awesome!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
Thank you to all for your support, and to everyone who sent me an email. As the event is about six months away, and there is still much planning to be done, I'm going to hold off on putting out too much information, too soon. As things get locked in, I'll make some official announcements. For now, I can say we'll be using modified IBJJF rules, simalar to most competitions of this type.
nice!
THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HEARD ALL DAY! Thanks Conan, I needed that. I am putting all the 205'ers on notice right now!
that rawks! do you know if the date of the event conflicts with judo or karate?
Ken, as of now the date will not conflict with the Karate or Judo competitions. I'm going to hold off on announcing the exact date until the CSG makes its official announcement of dates.
That is really cool Conan. Just a few years ago I couldn't find anything in the phone book or intrnet for Jiu-Jitsu in Lincoln and now it's at the State Games. Thank you for helping put this sport on the map across the state and especially here in Lincoln.
Big Andy
Well, that deserves a WOW!! I can't believe how far Jiu-jitsu has come in Lincoln. It's hard to remember years ago when it was three and four core guys that came in consistantly to class. Now it's up to twenty plus with jits in the state games. I'll never be able to say this enough, but thanks Conan for all you've done for the program at SRSBK.
That's wonderful! Its like one small step towards Jiu-Jitsu as a Olympic sport. I want to know how to contact my states games representatives to see if I can get it in my state now.
Jason, www.utahsummergames.org is the place to start. Send me an email if you want any assistance.
