Sometimes in the midst of training one can get obsessed with attempting to pull off the most complex and shocking move possible, instead of focusing on the basics. This video is a powerful reminder of the basics of MMA and of life. The word excellence gets thrown around a lot in this culture. But rarely is it used properly, as in, this video is excellent. I'm not sure how the Nobel Peace Prize nomination process works, but I assume most of the Nobel committee reads this website on a regular basis. Consider this my formal nomination for the creators of this video.

Allie, I'm sorry I accidentally rejected your comment. We had some spammers putting rude and inappropriate comments on some of the posts, so I changed the comment settings a couple of weeks ago. I now have to moderate them before they're published. All was working great until today when I clicked "reject" instead of "accept" on your comment. I won't do that again if you post your comment again.
I remember being freaked out at the bad guys when they wore their skeleton costumes. Ralph Machio's(sic) Karate is really bad. The other fighters had good techniqe. Were there fires burning doing the shooting of the movie? There's smoke everywhere.
Karate Kid changed my life. I was not allowed to watch Bruce Lee or indeed any martial arts films as a kid. But somehow I was allowed for the karate kid. Ever since, it made me want to learn MA. And I did. Now 25 years later, I am still doing MA, laughing at Karate Kid videos and lines but never forgetting that it single handedly got me into this wonderful world.
