This video incorporates several different elements along the same theme. There is a short, undetailed explanation of how to secure and finish a bent arm lock (Ude Garami), or Kimura technique, from the guard.
There is a more detailed demonstration of how to counter two common defenses to the Kimura.
One of the counter-attacks demonstrates how to complete the submission from the guard. The other demonstrates how to incorporate a hip-heist reversal to obtain mount.
Following this counter, there is a quick demonstration of a transition to complete the submission with a Kimura from side control. There is no explanation of this submission technique in this video, however, it is shown in more detail in another video, Bent Arm Lock (Ude Garami) - Kimura technique from side control.

on tuesday can we take a few minutes and go over that ankle hook defense counter? i've actually never practiced that technique.
a brief note here Conan: i want to mention my appreciation for your teaching philosophy of doing things in clusters: we're now spending lots of time on the kimura. a couple months ago we spent several weeks on 1/2 guard, before that we spent a lot of time on chokes, the armbar variations before that, and so forth . . .
the idea of spending hours and hours on the variations and technicalities of various moves helps us to understand them as a concept that can be performed in many places and in many variations. in the end, i think there is an accelerated improvement of technique mastery.
i want to mention my appreciation for such--i love training at SRSK/The Jiu-Jitsu Fighter dojo!
I like the videos. They are well done, and go in a sequence that makes sense. One thing to consider, however, is that the Dojo is very prone to echos, being a large open space. An external mic might be a remedy to this. There might also be settings in the software you use to edit, that you might use to minimize the echos and make you more understandable. I really like the intro, the editing is great, but it might be a little long if you are planning to put up many videos. Overall I think the videos are a great way to promote the Dojo and can be a learning tool for when I can't make it to class.
I'm glad they're being well received. Thank you for the honest critique. These are points I considered as well in deciding what footage to use. I'll take your advise to heart for the production of future videos.
You are getting better and better with your videos. I hope the school doesn't lose you to some Hollywood film company. I can see you editing the next Rambo film.
